Audience

The band Pond is an Australian band. People who enjoy the music of the band are most likely to be people from Australia, as this will be the type of music they are used to listening to, since the artists are Australian. This will therefore be the bands primary audience, however the secondary audience, will be people across other countries that like this genre of psychedelic rock.

The primary target audience will be mainly Australian males, aged 21 – 40. This is because the band are quite young and are Australian, so therefore can relate to a younger audience and the audience and the fan base which are in their country.

Their secondary target audience will therefore be males, 21 – 40 who live in other countries, but still listen to this band. Men up to 40 I think will also like the music of the band as it will be similar to the genre of music they grew up with and therefore is something they can relate to.

Another section of their main audience will be people who listen to the band Tame Impala. This is because they are a band that are very similar to Pond, meaning people who enjoy their music, will probably enjoy the same music as Pond. Also some of the band members from Tame Impala are also in the band Pond. This will means that fans of these artists will enjoy the bands music as well.

Risk Assessment

During the process of creating this portfolio, there are certain risks all of our team needs to be aware of, particularly throughout the filming process. To make sure these risks have been clearly identified to everyone, I have created this table, which clearly shows the main risks and how the team can overcome the risk, which could prevent filming and hold our team back.

Risk	How We Will Prevent The Risk
Weather	Weather may affect our time lapse on the day of shooting as we need to see the sunrise and sun set in order to show the start and end of the day and create a clear narrative to video. Lighting will mainly affect our studio shots as if we do not get the lighting right whilst filming, it may affect the quality of the final clips. Since our video is meant to be quite dark in the studio shots, if the lighting is not correct it may give a false impression, which would totally contrast our storyboard for the video and this will affect the meaning of the video. To make sure that we can overcome this risk, if it happens to arise, we will spend the first 5 – 10 minutes of our filming time adjusting the lighting in order to make sure we have explored each possibility.
Lighting
Injury	Injury or illness could affect our production at any of the shots. This is because if one member of the team cannot make it to the shots due to illness, we will be one person down. Especially in the studio, which is very busy, it may be hard to get another available slot. Even though illness cannot be helped, we will make sure that everyone in the team clearly knows the date and times of filming, so they will be able to try an get better so the slots are not missed. We will also try and organize substitutes just in case a member of team is really bad and some one has to fill in for them.
Illness
Broken Equipment	This could potentially affect the filming at any time as if we have a problem with the equipment (Tripod, Cameras), or if we have a problem with the battery on the cameras, we may not be able to film and this could hold us back. To ensure that we don’t encounter any of these two problems, we will make sure that all of the cameras we are using are charged up the night before and so they have enough charge to last the time we need them for. We will also arrive at the filming studio 15 minutes before we start filming, as then we will be able to set up and check all of the equipment. If there is a problem, we will then have enough time to change the equipment before we start the filming time.
Low Battery
Electrics	This will mainly affect our filming in the studio. This is because is there is a problem with electrics; it could cause faults with the equipment, which could prevent us using the equipment and therefore filming. It could also cause injury to a member of the team, which could also prevent us filming. Trip Hazards would also be a major risk whilst in the filming studio as the wires will all be plugged in to sockets on the wall. This will mean wires will have to be left on the floor. However, to ensure that there are no injury’s, we will make sure that everybody involved in the process keeps all of the studio tidy so that all wires are kept out of the way. We will also make sure that everybody involved knows where the wires are and which wire goes to what piece of equipment. This will make sure that everyone is aware of the hazards and they are then able to prevent the hazards.
Trip Hazards
Location	Location will also be another factor, which could contribute to the prevention of our production. If the locations we have decided to use are temporarily unavailable (Temporary Maintenance Working etc.) this could also postpone our filming, as we may have to decide on other locations. The locations we have chosen outside of the studios may also have a lot of hazards within the area, which could also affect our filming process. To make sure that we avoid these location, which could prevent our filming, we have taken recce shots of each of the possible locations and made a sensible decision as to which location will be the best, in terms of the video but also safety.
